    Cat messed with my doe

Shot a doe early this morning and sat for probably an hour and a half after to finish out the hunt. Got down to check the hog trap and had to free a yearling that was unable to jump out. Went back to pick up my downed doe and was shocked to see this. Looks like I just missed an opportunity at a bobcat covering my deer. The head was covered with dried grass and I could see the scratching in the dirt and the tracks. Wish I still woulda been sitting to see that.

Cool. Years ago. I had a Mountain Lion bury a doe I was blood tracking. Awesome and scary at the same time.

I am assuming that you shot it in the head? That would have been really cool to see for sure.

No sir! I was at the trap for 15 mins max. He didn’t waste any time.

Yessir. Head shot is the way I prefer. No wasted meat and no tracking.

That is totally awesome! My wife's first bow kill was a doe on an evening hunt... tracking after dark, we came up on the deer lying dead with a bobcat sitting at her rear end eating on the hind quarters... He didn't want to leave.. growled at us and swole up... I drew my pistol and not sure what actually scared the cat off, but it took off before I could get a shot...

Til they make a subtle movement prior to impact and you blow a jaw off and end up tracking hundreds of yards. Been there danced that dance. Still like me a head shot on doe though.

Cara caras and buzzards cleaned my last gut pile within an hour.
Hope you get a yote or pigs.

They are opportunistic that’s for sure. Any update on kitty sighting this evening?

We tried, but no luck. We threw out some guts hoping that’ll bring it in.
But we did fill feeders and water stations earlier today so that was probably the reason why.

What did you shoot it in the head with?
