Default 2020 Bow lineups

I love this time of the year. All the anticipation - what are manufacturers going to come up with, and then sadly disappointed (normally) with the same technology as last year and the years prior. I havenít owned a Hoyt in a long time and still waiting for the others to launch but the Hoyt lineup looks pretty good.

I was a loyal Hoyt guy for years and love their bows. I decided to go a different route and bought a new Elite in early '14. I was thinking about upgrading before next season and getting a new Hoyt but DANG! New bow prices have gotten ridiculous. For the price of a nicely rigged out new bow, I can buy a custom rifle with nice optics and it won't tank in value after a few years like a bow. They are pricing the working man out of the market.

Still shooting my alpha max Hoyt from 2008 it still gets the job done hard to justify a new bow when the old bow still hammers.

I thought all Hoyt did was the same thing they’ve done the last three years. I use to be a die hard Hoyt guy. Went to elite for a year and. now have a Mathews. I’ll be keeping my traverse. Elites and bowtechs tuning technology is a advancement on their bows. Wanna see what Mathews does.

I totally agree. I use to buy a new bow every year and made the argument that after new strings- I might as well. Now at $1700, that is not the case. Iím not sure what the margin is but geez they are getting pricey.

We just got the two new Elite bows, and three of the Black Series from Prime in. I honestly don't think I've ever shot a smoother bow than the Elite Kure.

But those Prime bows feel like there is a lion in a cage and when you let it go it goes. The parallel cam system just looks amazing. I had some crazy groupings from 10 yards no peep. Not expecting to impress anybody with that but it made me all giddy.

The new Xpedition flagship is a speed demon. The draw cycle on that bad bow feels natural and it feels like a laser.

I'm going to go out on a very long, spindly limb here and make a crazy, outlandish prediction:

"This model is fast, smooth, quiet, and dead in the hand".

Many reviews will substitute "quite" for "quiet"...but it means the same thing.

Interested to still see a moderately fast bow with a short ata. Closest I've seen is the obsession fx30. I hear Mathews is releasing another 28 ata bow.. I'll be watching.

Had the rep from Xpedition in and he let me shoot it. It has a great draw cycle, minimal transition into the back wall, and feels fast. I'm not big on speed but it was impressive.

I missed the Prime release yesterday. Nice looking bows.

Would love to see Elite with a 33-35" Kure.

Got distracted by the new Hoyts I guess.

Shoot the new Cure and the Revolt while picking my bow up today and liked the Cure over the Bowtech. Shoot the Realm and I liked it more that the new Revolt and the Realm was by far the fast bow for sure. Only complaint is its harsh for the first 1/4 of the draw but then becomes butter.

The Cure was pretty consistent throughout and very dead in the hand.

Trust me believe the Hype it was real tough between the Vertix and Revolt but I've made the right choice. I'm switching over from a Ritual 30.

Pick up the Triax when it came out. I don't shoot my Switchback because I might have buyers remorse. Won't need a new one for years.

Bowtech is the one to beat IMO. Never thought I would say that but for tuning purposes putting the deadlock cams in the hunting line is a great move in the right direction

The new cam/axle system on the BowTech is in a league of it’s own. I love my realm x for its tune ability... but in the end it is a dual cam and can go out of time. The new system goes back to a binary cam and allows the cams to move sideways to tune out what the yokes did before. Brilliant

Wish they would get them a little closer to the x speed and I’d switch

Bought a Vertix Last Year, It was my first ever new bow, where I got to go through the sequence of rigging it out just the way I wanted it. As addicting as that was/is, I'm going to try and wait 3-4 years before I indulge again.

Still feels like the triax.

I think Bowtech gets the nod for 2020 bows. Thoughts?

I just went and shot them all with thinking I was going to like the Revolt. However, the VXR (both the 28 and the 31) felt so nice. I love the cam stop on the Bowtech, but the grip didn’t fit me as well as the VXR. The Hoyt and Elite came in 3rd and 4th (for me). The 31in VXR was crazy smooth, all of them were dead in the hand, but I liked the 75lbs option the grip and the wall of the VXR better than the rest. It’s funny I have a triax and the VXR was way down the list. Nice job Mathews, you nailed it!

Yes, and it was really nice. Like I said, I didnít really want the VXR since it was so close to the triax. I chose it because it felt the best of all the bows. Kind of like a perfect blend of the triax and the vertix, but did go with the 31 to at least feel a little different.
