I found this kind of amusing. Another reminder that nobody really knows what is or isn't a slam dunk hire. That being said FSU would be doing good to get Bob Stoops ice he is proven.

Now that FSU has officially let go of their Willie, it's time to revisit everyone's favorite SI article from Dec. 2017, "Grading All 20 Hires of the 2017 College Football Coaching Carousel."

According to her expert opinion:
1. Scott Frost, Nebraska
2. Chip Kelly, UCLA
3. Jonathan Smith, Oregon State
4. Steve Campbell, South Alabama
5. Willie Taggart, FSU

19. Jimbo

None of the top five currently have a winning record this year. At least they are consistent because that was true in their first seasons, also. The degree of fail in this article is something to behold.

I think Frost was the right guy for Nebraska. Perfect example of it's going to take some time.

How in the wide wide world of sports did anybody think a coach like Jimbo, going to a school with basically unlimited resources and a strong desire to be at the top of the pile, was the 19th best hire? Even (most) people that hate TAMU will admit that it's only a matter of time before they make noise.

Iím not 100% sure but I believe is was all based on the fully guaranteed 10 year contract as to why it was ranked so low.

That and most people only dislike A&M because their fans hate all other Texas teams and are so SEC annoying.

Fair enough - TAMU paid a lot, but got the best coach on the market at the time.

This makes my heart happy, thank you so much.

Seriously, I don't hate other college football teams in Texas, but I am glad the Ags are playing in the SEC. Its a great conference. I know plenty of Longhorns and Aggies who truly do hate though, it goes both ways.

I cheered for Texas once, Rose Bowl vs USC

You say that but Texas fans on here complimented both Baylor and SMU while the Ags made fun of them and said the Aggies would skull drag them because they don't play in the big bad SEC. LOL.

Stoops to FSU???

This makes me really wonder about OU giving him a gentle push out of the way to make room for Riley. I thought he had some kind of health concern BS?

It doesnt mean ****. . .

Some Aggies complimented Baylor, you pointed that out.

I for one watched Baylor play and don't think they are that great, but they keep winning, even if the sos isn't impressive.

Also, the conversation was about Baylor making it into the playoffs. I do believe, after watching Baylor play, that they would get destroyed by any of the teams they would likely face in the playoffs, if they were to make it in.

GP just confirmed in presser that Alex Delton has left the program and also said he "thinks" Duggan will be able to go Saturday. For it to be even a consideration the injury cant be that bad. Can he grip the ball?

It was if they would get in if they went undefeated and were a power 5 champ vs. a 1 loss non champ. Most said they won't go undefeated and win the Big 12 including me.

broken finger from what ive heard. could be a dislocation i suppose. it's hard to believe what GP says regarding injuries. there's really no telling who will run out there. at this point its gonna be max(if he can go) or downing.

I am not concerned yet, but his room for error has shrunk.

It will be an interesting off season if Texas does not win out or go 3-1.

Errrrrrrrrrrr, wrong again. Us, that criticized Baylor (for the record I didnít say squat about SMU, I even won a bet by taking SMU against TCU), said they havenít played anyone and had a weak schedule. Did day weíd skull drag them, because we would. Not a doubt in my mind, they donít have the depth to play with us.

EVERYONE knows Baylor's schedule is back loaded. Baylor hasnt beat TCU since 2015. OU is still OU and unless they have another KSTATE game AND Baylor plays with their hair on fire it wont be close. UT still has everything in front of them and knows they cannot slip up anywhere.

My prediction is 2-2 but 1-3 was my prediction before season.

Sagarin Rankings for schedule remaining

Baylor is 17

TCU 29
OU 6
UT 20
KU 90

I see Baylor going 3-1 in their last 4. They beat TCU, beat Texas, lose to OU and of course they beat Kansas.

Wonder where the Ags rank on remaining schedule. We got #1 LSU and #6 Georgia I guess plus USCe. Ugh

Right now the AGS are 18 in rankings with a rough 3 game stretch to close.

That's a great idea. They'd actually be buying something that they KNOW will work. With so many coaching candidates, you don't know what you're getting.

I think when your Father dies of a heart attack in his mid 50s and the Doc asks about your stress level that's a good reason to think about what you want to do the rest of your life. I think there is a lot of difference in that level trying to bring back FSU as opposed to coaching the new team.

FSU should target Matt Campbell. I think someone at this level of a program is a realistic possibility.
