Agreed. While a ton of bells and whistles are nice if it gets to expensive that’ll suck. A 3300$ set up down to 2700$ is much preferred than a 4500$ rifle down to 3700$.

If we go the ag with a #4 steel barrel, I’d definitely be cool with that. What’s the chances of getting into a carbon barrel though? 28 nosler has been calling my name lately

I can’t imagine a better hunting rifle than what I got last year, so I’m leaning toward a heavy PRS style for my vote. Stock or chassis. I’ve never had a chassis bolt gun, but there must be a reason they’re getting so popular.

Adjustability is the biggest thing. Weight may or may not play a factor depending on which one you go with. I was highly against them at first but three of the last 4 rifles I have had built have been on a chassis.

But, do you even shoot bro? My last 2 builds have been Chassis as well ands if I get in on this next deal it will more than likely be the same. If the option is available.

I agree. My 20” 7-08 is light and handles awesome for a hunting gun. I doubt I’ll need another one for Texas deer hunting. IM still on board for a barreled action but I think that idea is dead by now. So my vote is a heavy long range gun in either an AG stock or chassis

I'm still on board for a lightweight (not ultralight) hunting rifle. I have no interest in a chassis.

It seems like we're split between light and heavy.

                            1 vote for the heavy

I want a light weight rifle that I can carry mountain hunting. The last two I have carried in the mountains but after 3 or 4 days I start thinking I need something lighter.

For those of you interested in a light weight steel rig, here's one Robert built for me recently. Likely about the best price point for a light weight hunter and accommodating lefties.

A short action rig with a 20-22 tube and no brake would shave considerable weight.

It has an AG stock in the APR design with an APR contoured Muller barrel on a defiance tenacity. The empty rifle is just under 7 and the barrel finished at .700 at the muzzle.
