Very nice buck indeed and it sounds like there is a cool story to go with it.

I’ve had a ton of close calls this season without actually getting shot opportunities. I had this same buck under me at 4 yards a few weeks ago at another stand. Then saw him again at 20 yards a couple weeks ago but couldn’t tell which buck he was until he was walking through my shooting lane and it was too late to take a shot. I was going to sit at another spot and changed my mind at the last minute after getting a few pics of him. The tripod I shot him from was only good for a west wind if something came from one of 3 specific trails and it worked out perfectly but he heard me scrape my foot on the expanded metal and when he turned to run off I was able to get a quick shot at him.
