I was drawn for the LRGV East Lake Hunt for this weekend. They called today and said the hunt was moved because of the cow tick disease to the Schlaben unit about 10 miles west. Good news the place has not been hunted in at least 40 years they said, bad news it appears to be extremely thick and has not been maintained. There appears to be many old roads but they said they have not been maintained, but anywhere off the roads look thick. It is hard for me to understand the trees/brush of a map in south Texas. This is a shotgun / muzzleloader hunt, so I need to be able to keep within 150 yards. Also the property is 1500 acres, there will be 8 hunters. There is a 300 acre private property range in the middle. I can see water close to the SE point of the private property, but I imagine everyone will try to get that point. Any advice or opinions will greatly be appreciated
