    Broadhead for axis

Last night I was hunting axis and shot a doe at 68 yards, she only ran about 60 yards before she piled up. On my walk back to camp I came across a herd and shot a buck at 42 yards, and didn’t get enough penetration to kill him. I’m shooting a Mathews Halon at 70 pounds with a 28 inch draw, and shooting 340 spine Easton axis arrows that weigh about 450 grains, I am gonna switch from Rage broad heads to something with more penetration for axis, what would y’all recommend it needs to be accurate for longer shots.
    Thanks in Advance

You can just switch to the +p hypo 1.5" rage.
When you hit big bone with a big rage they stop, and/or break.

Just get a quality fixed blade....slick trick, silver flame, etc.

NAP spitfire is my #1 go to. Especially for longer shots. Slick trick standard 125 gr is my new favorite. Because it’s 1”, it’s accurate for me up to 60yds (haven’t tried further). The ST magnum doesn’t fly as accurately. Maybe 40 yds max.

Grim Reaper pro micro hybrid. Best of both worlds and I use to be a Rage guy.

I'll second the Grim Reaper, axis doe last year went 20yds.

                    God Bless

I’m a big fan of the Grim Reaper Micro Hybrid. It’s one of my new favorites.

Allen lil nasty. 10$ for 3. I kill everything I shoot with them. shot placement is the key. I shot a 250 pound sow in the ham one night thinking it was the other end! was femoral artery shot.

I’ve used Muzzys and NAP Spitfires with great results on Axis.

Any chance that he moved, while the arrow was traveling 42 yards?
You probably didn't hit where you were aiming. Not the broadhead's fault.

And yes, I have killed axis with Rage broadheads.
