    DIY Custom Topwaters

Tried my hand at custom painting some spooks. Still figuring it out, but I think for someone with no discernible artistic ability the first few came out decent. Anybody have any ideas for some color patterns?

i follow a guy on the youtubez that makes baits; Marling Baits. Entertaining guy, and has lots of color combos.

I used to paint a bunch of them, and I mean a bunch of them. I owned a small tackle shop and would sell them faster than I could paint them. Finally got to where I was painting all my free time and I gave it up.

We used to take the Producers Ghost after the chrome was knocked off and paint them very similar to this pattern, but instead of painting the sides we would leave it the base color of the plastic, which was a bone color. Also, the dots were only near the tail end and we also painted a red gill on each side.

With the chrome gone they were much louder, we would hammer them on that bait.

Good looking topwaters. Like the paint and patterns. Nothing beats dragging a topwater across a mirror flat water surface, then have the explosion happen!
