I had a few of them in the early '80s when I commanded a Dustoff chopper company. Certainly not my choice at all, and most of them didn't finish out their "enlistment" but ended up in Leavenworth, or discharged administratively for any number of reasons.

Our men and women in uniform have a mission--defend freedom's frontiers wherever sent--not to baby-sit and rehab society's losers.

Commanders and leaders in uniform have enough troubles without dumping society's dregs on them---don't do it.
