    Sapling puller

Have a bunch of sweet gum saplings that got a little big to mow with shredder without leaving stobs that will play heck with tires

Northern Has a brush grubbed chain that they want about $60 for

Found this instead and it works pretty dang good

I did not come up with the idea but did make this one

1.25” inch heavy wall pipe about 6” long
    Chain hook
1/4” chain with hook on one end

    Weld hook onto pipe

Run hookless end through pipe, around sapling and hook end to hook on pipe

Works great on things like locust growing in clumps too

    Cost me less than $10

Neat idea. What are you using to pull up the saplings?

I don't get it. I need to see it in action for my little brain to grasp the idea.

Looks like the chain going thru the pipe go to the tractor. When you pull it pinches the sapling with the chain to the pipe and rips it out?

Yep, looks like the pipe is just a way to make the chain slide tight. I’ll bet it works pretty well.

I need something like this I think. Are you using the tractor to pull, 3 point to pull up or the front bucket. I have huisache that grows in rocky soil but I'll try anything. Good luck.

Good idea. I purchased a pirana bar for the bucket with hope's of shoving some brush. Really improved the digging on the bucket vs a flat edge.
Not as cheap as $6. Lol.

                      BINGO

You can actually stay away from the stickers on the locust bushes and let it cinch up when you pull away

3pt but could use a truck too I guess

Cool! Would it work on small mesquite? I've got some that are too big to shred. Or am I stuck with Remedy?

Good idea! I’ve been trying to justify buying one of those brush scrubbers, glad I never did.

Never pulled any mesquite but if you can pull them up I don't see why it would not work
