Head blasted stainless is durable, not shiny, and as fuss free a material as can be had on a rifle.

What are we discussing here? Stainless Steel over CM, or preferred finishes? You can blue or otherwise coat both.

I have shiny barrels because I spend to much at the gs already. [emoji848]

The two rifles I shoot the most which are both Remington 700's, a 7mm RUM and 220 Swift, both have stainless, matte barrels. They are not shiny at all, resistant to the snowy and wet conditions we have here in the winter, and look nice as well.

I either own stainless or winchester proof steel.

My rifles go through hell in many different states and I clean the inside of the barrel about every three years.

I can honestly say the rifles that show the least amount of effect from harsh use are the Ruger 77 All-Weather because its ugly to begin with and a stainless Marlin.

I like them they are easy to take care of. I will take some camo tape and wrap it during the season. Not sure if the glare off the barrel makes a difference but I don’t want to take a chance
