Default 4runner/Tacoma-Maybe Tundra mega thread!

Figured I'd start a thread for those with these and interested in them here.

I had a lifted DCLB Taco years ago.

Now in a 2016 4runner TRD.

Mods - Icon Stage 2 with UCA, Prinsu Rack, steps, SCS 17x8.5" wheels, 285/70/17 BFG, AEM air filter.

Who else can't leave their rigs alone?

Nice ride! I've got a similar setup on my 2017 TRD OffRoad Tacoma.

Toyota Stealth Custom Series wheels
285/70r17 Cooper AT3 4S (tomorrow.) Currently has 295/70r17 Cooper MTs on it.
Total Chaos Long Travel suspension with Toytec shocks.

I'll add a better pic after tires tomorrow.

How big of a hit did you have with 295 vs 285? I really want to move up but worried about it.

They rub a bit with wheel turned hard and shocks compressed. Turning into a driveway for example. Slow down enough and they don’t hit at all, though.

I am really leaning on moving up. I loved the 295/70/17 I had on my Tahoe before the lift and 35". They look so much better than 285.

How do you like the 4runner? I have always had trucks but have the itch to get out of my F-150 and get something very similar to what you have.

Love it. I'll probably never have a truck again.

I love the interior space, and being able to have all my hunting gear and dog in the truck with me out of the weather.

Had a lifted Tahoe I loved even more before this but was too big for my current commute. Have not been in a situation where I needed a truck since I made the jump to SUVs.

I have been toying with getting a 4runner or putting a camper on my truck. I don't really care for how the campers look and it would be nice to have all my gear locked vs in the bed. I had a bed cover on my last truck and it worked but you couldn't slide it over some of the newer style coolers and that made it pretty useless since i wanted it for that exact reason.

I don't have any pics on my phone but bought a '19 TRD Offroad exactly like this one. The only thing I've done is replace the seats with nice Katzkin black leather. I'm not going to go mod crazy but want to do a few things...

- 2" lift
- TRD Pro Grill
- Replace chrome rear bumper with painted to match.
- Color matched shell with rack

I bought an aftermarket TRD grill for mine. I don't have anything done but a mild lift and bilsteins and a n-fab light bar on my 2006. I didn't want to crush the gas mileage with bigger tires but I may end up with new wheels when its time to replace

Well I am now Tundra-less after a little slip in slide last Saturday morning. Ended up rolling it and pulling the rear axle almost off. Happy to have walked away with only aches and pains.

Currently waiting for the insurance check and will be shopping for a new truck.. with a new Tundra being high on the list.

****er! I actually sold the 6 wheeler a couple years back. I don't miss driving it in traffic, and I don't miss putting tires on it, but I do miss the truck. It was a beast of a ride and I moved some insane loads with it.

Never had any trouble in the other area.

Any way you could put a tape on that and see what height it is? Curious if I could fit in the garages around Houston with a small lift. Most of them are 6’9” clearance so I’m pretty sure it would.

Default Love Mine!

Tundra 1794 Edition here. The "only" things I have added is a Ranch Hand cattle guard (all my previous trucks have had one,) bed cover, window vents and that's it so far. This is my 2nd Tundra after several years of Ford & Chevy.

I'm still debating regarding some type of lift, but since retired from the land business I don't do that much pasture driving anymore.

One thing I will say, interior pic included, I was spoiled on the King Ranch interiors and when I decided to go back to Tundra, the 1794 edition interior is my favorite of all time. That plus the "immense" interior room and quality, well...should be my last truck as I will drive it until I can't drive anymore. Sure, MPG could be better, but I've never owned any 4x4 and worried about MPG. I want power, performance and in my ole' age, reliability as much as I can get. Never owned a TACO or any other Toyota vehicle, but IMO, can't beat the value and performance..IMO again, lol!

My white ‘18 CM came with those wheels, couldn’t take it so I had them powder coated black and left the center caps chrome. Like my best good uncle says, “I got to have a little jewelry”. Came out super sharp. I’ve seen a few other guys do it, too. I’ll try to post pics later, all I have on this phone are pics of pics on my old phone. Pm me and I’ll text ‘em if you want to see ‘em.

If I go taller and wider with the 20” rims with the current wheel offset I’ll be pretty close to hitting the upper control arms. Going to go down to 18’s with a +25 offset and 295/70’s.

Awesome looking rigs felllas. I am looking hard at the Tacomas... For you fellas that have had previous generation Tacomas, how is the motor in the new generation Tacos compare??

For those with the four runners, do the back seats lay down and make a large flattish space??

The seats do split and go flat. I can lay them both down and fit XL jet sled, 3 layouts, our gear, and my dog. If I leave one seat up I can fit jet sled two layouts and dog.

Mine is a 2006. My mom has a 2015 or 16. The 06 will run circles around the newer.

But the new truck is more comfortable however its 2x4. The bilsteins helped my ride tremendously. I love the truck and with only 70,000 miles on a 14 year old truck I'm gonna keep it
