We leave next week for a week of hunting in Northern IA/Southern MN along the upper Iowa River. Can't wait! Such a different world in those deer woods!

In the tree for the first sit of the season. This is a straight up scouting sit. Only have about 1.5 hrs of daylight. It's 48 degrees, cloudy with a west wind. I have never hunted this tree although it's close to a lock on that I have hunted many times. There is a trail leading up out of the river to my left, a small food plot to my right. This is tree is in a pinch between two drains that flow down to the river.

Two twin yearling bucks came up the trail from the river. They hung around under my tree for about 10-15 minutes watching the cats. They finally moved on to the food plot. Both bucks had 3 points on the left side and a as spike on the right.
