My son-in-laws just now getting the Goldthwaite team together. First practice was today. Guess we will play in the metroplex within a few weeks. We are 9u. Might get to see Dale M.

Well that is fine and dandy that you have little league where you are at. Unfortunately we do not have little league where we are. Our options are play in rec league or play select. My son is pretty good and he was bored in rec so we decided for better competition to go the select route.

Good for you. They need support.
I do it with Taxes and donations.
          How do you support it?
You a dad coach? Team mom?
          Maintain the fields?
          Help with administrative duties?
          Run the fund raisers?
          Team or field sponsor?
          Donate score boards?
Good thing you're doing for the kids that play little league ball.
Im glad those kids have someone as dedicated to them as you...we see some of them at tryouts and the occasional tournaments where they put together "all star" teams, so all your dedication is paying off..they are getting to learn and move on by continuing to play a great game even after league ball is no longer a viable option or beneficial to them.

Not really sure why you felt the need to announce it in a thread about youth sports you apparently dont support or were asked your opinion about?

Come to my 98% below the poverty level school where I serve as Principal and ask me what I do for kids. Do you dedicate 72 hours a week to kids or just pay others to do so for you. I wish you would call me out to my face.

There's probably a 98% chance you are going to die in the next 50 years...is that a reason to stop living?

Maybe you'd prefer a socialist society that measures and tests children before shipping them off to their appointed occupation?

Baseball is a game where dreamers, scrappers, and misfits achieve great things. That's why it's the most "American" game of all, and it's known as "America's past time".

You have the right, in this free land of ours, to come here and tell us how to do baseball with our kids...but don't expect it to be well received my friend!

You didnt really answer how you support little league baseball..but it does appear you misunderstood me.
Allow me to clarify with giant crayon font.

I dont give a rats *** what your opinion is...who you are..what you do...or what motive you have for posting in a thread that clearly isnt something that you have a clue about.
I certainly dont give a **** about what you think is best for my kids.
If youre a principal anywhere its the kids i certainly feel sorry for if your weak *** troll job on this thread is any indication of your ability to educate or lead educators in how a child should act.

                That clear?
I can be found at pretty much any ball park around houston on any given weekend. Drop by if you can bring yourself to be surrounded by thousands of men, women, parents and kids that dont share your opinions on how they should spend their time, money, and resources.

But on a positive note.. you made the list and are bound to go in first round.

You're right. Misfits, scrappers and dreamers are playing select ball and paying thousands of dollars a year to do so.

I don't know where you get 2% from either. Organization that my kid plays with during the Summer put 36 kids into college programs in 2018. If a kid is playing college baseball there is about a 98% that he played with a select baseball organization.

have no idea why you are negative about it. We have gone all over the country and visited all kinds of things with baseball. Will be in at least 3 different States this Summer. I have to work overtime and the family makes cuts in other areas to be able to be involved in it. We will only have another year or two and I'm sure I will miss it. I spent a lot of time with my kid and I've seen him learned lie lessons on the baseball field.

If you choose not to participate that is your family's choice.

From statistics. 36 kids is not 98% of D1.

This is my son and a kid from another team last season.

Right 2% of high school athletes. I would also agree that high school only baseball players are going to have a hard time getting noticed as college coaches are traveling with their team during the HS season. For instance when my kid goes to play this Summer. I think there will be kids from more than 12 high school programs on his team. I would venture to guess it will be those schools top players as well. Will all of them receive a college ride- nope. Will more than 2% of them play college ball- yep. It is not for everyone. Kid has to love it and parents have to make adjustments for their kid to play.
Most folks on here won't do it because you gotta almost call off hunting for the years they are in it.

Better weekend of ball for my kids. 10u group fought hard all day and ended up losing in the championship by 1 run to a very salty scorpion team Easton. My youngest hit his first long ball this morning so that was really neat to see his hard work pay off. My 13u son's team won both pool games and their first today before the wheels fell off. Lol. He's finally looking good at the plate and catching really well. Alot learned and 7-3 on the weekend works for me!

cwill - you must have a hard time keeping up with wo going different directions. DO you watch one play and watch the other on Game Changer? That has got to be a tough one.
