How is the legal ? Possession is still a federal crime ? How does a city Ordinance trump a federal or state law ?

Gonesouth, I commute to Austin everyday, and have been since ‘00. I understand the liberal, socialist (now DSA) regime that’s masked as a democrat occupying city hall. The CC has no authority in CCP to direct any department or municipality on which arrest to make. The resolution calls for the end of financial support for testing of weed.. How do you tell a beat cop that the gun they found in the car off a felon based on the odor of weed (probable cause) search is now a bad case because they won’t financially support it? Like most Austin CC descions they’ll comeback under the mask of darkness and amend it or give Chief money to have DPS test it.

It’s a budget and “ok we admit it, weed isn’t actually bad” thing

Guys, come on. Let the reefer madness movie go. Let it go.
                    Couple things.

-Tell me about the last stoned driver that killed someone waiting for a stop sign to turn green.

-Anyone denying the legitimate medicinal benefits of marijuana is uninformed, ill-informed, or never seen the positive effects, of its use for many ailments. Up to and including terminal illnesses.

And, no, I do not partake but know plenty of normal, responsible, successful adults who do. In fact guys, Don’t look now? But I promise you somebody you know, and probably somebody you’re close to, is using marijuana.

                    I know! I know! - “not my friends/associates”.

                    You’re wrong.

Law enforcement has bigger things to worry about than a dime bag of weed.

People that worry about this can also occupy their time with stopping gambling in Texas. All that does is send your money to Louisiana and Nevada.

Good, that's a waste of law enforcements time
