Default 2020 Saltwater Fishing Thread

New year time for a new thread. We started the year off right with a couple limits of trout this morning. It has been a solid bite for us for the last several weeks. Good luck to everyone that is venturing to the salt this coming year.

I’m dang sure going to contribute more to this thread.
Didn’t post every pic or trip but will do my best this year... I’ll be off most of this month and plan on hunting and fishing everyone... well, after I get my honey do’s done.

Wife and I had our rv to aransas pass for 5 months last year and tired of crowds. We decided we are going to set up camp in poc this year just need to find a nice rv place and find some fish. Those are some nice trout.

Man wish I had known this. My place is in AP. I agree on the crowds, but not sure how much better POC will be. Itís pretty popular nowadays.

Weíve been fishing both bay and river. I hardly fish the Bernard unless itís under the lights. We were cooking over here so I came straight here from Matagorda.

My 21 year old grandson has the fishing bug real bad. He's gone with me several times since the summer. It's tough keeping up with him but it's great to spend the time with him. It'll help me get out more this year too. It's the time of year to get him on a few big trout. Good luck out there this year.

Its about that time of year for me to make a run to S Louisiana. My brother made a scouting run today with his oldest boy. Trout were real finicky inside the marsh. Did not find the reds in the usual spots, but the big uglies and spare tire sized sheephead kept the lines tight all afternoon. Bull reds run is about to kick off

He carries a boat paddle to stir it up I think. I think it's made by donttakemeserious

Also.....if for some reason anyone EVER decides to order batteries online from wal marks and set them for pickup. Call me and I'll talk you through it.

It will require slamming your head in the door prior to going to the store. I think being in a coma will help

Well it wasnt a meat haul but we caught a few. We boxed 4. Lots of 14" fish to pass the time

Either way it's a beautiful day to be spending time with the fam outdoors. Even if it is my birthday.

Thanks for the tips Philip. We'll fish again soon and maybe invite some of these heathens

Ok, finally getting back to this thread. Went out Friday, trout limits mixed with some drum, flounder, and sheepshead in the land cut. All on live shrimp under a cork. Bite wasn’t on fire but steady. I need to do a better job of taking pics, none taken on this trip.

It was a grind this morning. We should have scratched out a limit but came up a bit short. We lost a few flipping them into the boat but oh well. Lots of dinks. We ended up with 8. We had to leave a little early so with more time we would have got a limit. Real soft bite. You would just feel weight. Beautiful morning on the water though.

I found a tackle bag floating in the ICW near Sargent. If you know of anyone who lost one shoot me a PM. If they can ID it I'll get it back to them.
