Days leading up to Christmas in south Texas on a cold cloudy morning with a little drizzle waiting to see what comes out that is the best time ever for me

Saturday before Thanksgiving to the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Scurry County. New bucks magically appear. Love it.

Deer? Bow opener.....everybody is there, haven't seen much of each other and its a grand time Sat night with a big cook and big fire. And at our place, a lot of good bucks drop that first weekend of the season...so its a good time to be there no matter the temperature.


For hunting in general?.... 9/1 is always my favorite day...not just because of the dove hunting but for the start of a new hunting season and the start of some better weather after a brutal summer.
