Built Me A PIG Haulin Trailer Using Child Labor!

My family and I raise a feeder pig or 2 each year and have been having to borrow a trailer to transport them. I couldn't bring myself to pay even what used livestock trailers are going for.
I have also been wanting to teach my 11&13yr olds to weld.

A true welder could probably find many things we could have done different or better but it's functional and was less than $400 total. As you can see in the pics, the pen can be removed so that the trailer can be used for it's original purpose.

This definitely sparked an interest in my 13yr old and he has been talking alot about welding schools lately!

    Heck yah! Go buddy go!

    Save the tennis shoes!
If you're not accustomed to hot BBs burn-n the top of your foot, might wanna get some leather boot on. Or boot chaps to cover the shoes.

      Awesome!

May want to add a center brace for added support on the panels.

There are 2 cross pieces on the top to keep the panel from sagging. But it's really not needed on the sides, the hog panels make it pretty rigid.

Great job, and teaching those boys some good skills. I second the center braces. At some time, you will carry something in there that will make you wish you had them.

Looks great. But I agree with this. Especially if you ever have the wild variety in there. Good job dad. You're raising some fine young men.

Never thought about it from that perspective [emoji848]

I got plenty of material leftover, time to break out the welder[emoji16]
