    Residential electrical question

So when i got home yesterday, my wife says the power is out in our bedroom. So i go check no power to any outlets, or ceiling lighting. My next step was to go to the breaker box , none of the breakers were flipped. So I turn them all off then back on, still no power in that bedroom. Everything in the house has power but one bedroom. So before I call an electrician, do yall have any suggestions ?

My bet is a gfi plug. Probably in the bathroom.

Does the breaker that feeds that room have power? I would start there. Could be bad breaker.

If the receptacles are back wired ,not under the screw ,you can lose
connection . Check the one closest to the breaker box

This. I lost power to a whole room. It happened after I plugged something in. After checking everything else I realised the problem was at the receptacle.

I helped a lady out once with the same issue. The neutral on that circuit was loose in the panel.

Well three hundred and thirty dollars later, the electrison found a bad receptical. It wasn't even in the room were the power was out. It was in a garage that has been enclosed into a work shop. This old house still makes me scratch my head sometimes.

Money well spent, especially when talking about preventing situations that could lead to disastrous outcomes.

It took them about three hours to find the problem. But it was a five minute fix, just as simple as replacing an outlet.

                            Why would you ask that?
