Default 2022 High School Baseball Playoffs

After being picked 4th in 17-3A, Lorena rolled through undefeated at 12-0 and 21-3 overall. Play Kemp at John Paul II HS in Plano Friday. Game 1 set to start at 4:30 and game 2 to follow 30 minutes after. My son has had a heck of year on the bump and at the plate. Currently 7-0 with an ERA of .894 in 47IP with 59K's to 15BB's, hitting at a .451 clip with 26 rbi and 33 runs from the 3 hole.

Good luck to everyone who still have boys playing!

Lorena got by Kemp in 2 games. Pretty proud of Ryne! Kid threw a 6 inning perfect game in game 1 on 63 pitches as Lorena won 10-0.

Livingston won District with a 11-1 district record and a 18-3-1 overall record. We won our first playoff game against Vidor last night in Crosby 3-2.

Lorena vs Caldwell at Georgetown Eastview. Game 1 set for 7 Thursday and game 2 Friday at 5. If game will be 30 minutes after game 2. Sure hoping the kid will be half as good on the bump as he was against Kemp last Friday.

Lorena moves on to face Cameron after sweeping Caldwell last week. Games are set to be played at Lake Belton, Thursday @ 7pm and Saturday @ 4pm. Should be a good series with 2 very good teams.

it's up to coaches for 1 or 3 games. If they don't agree then it's a coin toss and winner gets choice.

I'll be umpiring at state this year but don't know what game or games I will be doing yet.

Watched Friendswood vs. Crosby last night. Crosby had a great pitcher, but Friendswood eventually got to him. Game was a little chippy early with a dugout clearing altercation that resulted in two tosses (one from each team). Final Friendswood 4-1.

Lorena lost to a darn good Cameron Yoe team in two. My boy pitched good enough for a win Thursday night but the relief couldn’t hold it. Yoe is a better hitting team than Lorena was and I hope they win it all. Their SS will be wearing the TT colors next year. Plays the game the right way and is a class act! Super proud of Ryne Abel for the success he had on the diamond and football field in his senior year. QB of a state championship winning football team and a selection to the THSBCA all star game on 6/18. Almost forgot that he will be playing in the FCA Victory bowl in baseball at UMHB on 6/4. We are super proud parents of all his accomplishments this year. Looking forward to the next chapter in Juco ball next year.

Well, Georgetown pulled past some of the worst officiating in the past two games and went on to beat New Braunfels Canyon. I will say that I spend a lot of time in New Braunfels and have great friends that live in that community; however, most of their baseball fan base are just obnoxious!!!! Good luck to all that are continuing on!!

So far it has been a complete team effort and that's what you want to see. Everyone supports each other and they just battle. This is a good group of fine young men and we are so proud of their efforts thus far. The seniors got to graduate with their classmates tonight and I know they cherished that!

We lost out to Keller last night in game 3 of the regional semis. They get to play Southlake Carroll and will have a tough time getting past them Iím guessing. My son got the win in game 2 w 8 Ks, 1 walk, 5 hits, 2 er through 5 innings of work. On to 17u select ball for the rest of summer.

Now on to Reg Finals next week and will have to wait for assignments.

2nd year in a row for Rockwall and Heath to face off in regionals. They will be in Frisco at Roughrider stadium, we should be there Thursday for the day game.

Keller beat Southlake in both district games, we'll see how it plays out.

Same 4 teams in regionals up here as last year, Keller and Heath advanced last year.

Can someone explain how the playoffs work once you get to state? For example, in each class is there a state champ for Division I and Division II or do they play each other for a combined class state championship?

There is only one state champion per classification. So there will be 6 state champions total, 1a through 6a. There are no divisions in baseball, basketball, etc. only football

Each classification will have a team from each region. Region 1,2,3, and 4. Matchups are decided by overall records. The team with the best record gets the 1 seed and will play the team with the worst record (4 seed). 2 and 3 seed play each other. These are the semi-final games. The winner of these two games play the next day for the state championship.

Thank you K-Train. I understand now. For some reason the bracket I was looking at only had 2 teams in the state qualifier, but it was for the 2 divisions.

Got to at least listen to my Nephews game yesterday. Wishing I could have been there. Going to be a great game Saturday with Friendswood vs. Georgetown. From what Iíve read up on Georgetown, there are a lot of similarities with both teams. They both even have the same colors so itís going to be a Blue/White filled stadium Saturday. Good luck to both teams, the win will be deserved.

GO Friendswood!
Been to 3 of their playoff games and they have some phenomenal pitching and good hitters. My nephew is a Junior and pitched a gem to get them out of their only struggle this post season. He hasnít pitched since, but they havenít needed him to either with their starters doing so well. Going to be a great game vs. Georgetown.

Lots of blue in the stands at the Dell Diamond tomorrow. Good luck....We are close with a few players and it is going to be a good game. Caught the last portion of the Friendswood game last night and they looked sharp. Great fan base as well. Of course, I have to head to Houston early in the morning for work and will miss the game. Congrats to all teams for making it this far!! Go Eagles!!!
