Found out Last night that although the storm missed my aunt and uncles house it did hit the church they built down the road and made it disappear.

They said on the radio this morning that Salado got hit with 5.5" + sized hail and it was bigger than the scale.

Prayers for all of those affected. I cannot imagine the devastation caused by 5.5" hail.

Wasn’t all 5.5” hail, but plenty of baseball to softball sized. A lot of the hail I got sent pictures of was very uniquely shaped. There’s a good bit of devastation. It was definitely a strong tornado. Our friends lost their home. Their 13 year old was the only one home at the time and he survived with minor injuries. The best news is that so far no fatalities have been reported. I really hope that those that experienced significant to total losses were insured for enough to cover these extreme building costs right now. My broker and I have been bumping up coverage the last couple of years in case of a total loss event. I suggest everyone do the same.

I remember paying for a kitchen table and a tile shower enclosure in a house damaged by hail that size about 20 years ago!
