    Unsolved mystery

Shot a doe. Climbed down, looked at arrow. Picked it up and stuck it firmly in the ground to mark the spot for my catahoula to start the trail. Walked back to camp, got the 4wheeler and dog. Went back about 20 minutes later, arrow was gone.

Bare ground behind the feeder. No doubt where I was at before.

That was last night. Went back this morning... To look in daylight. Still gone.

    Kinda giving me the creeps.

    Bigfoot?

    PETA?

    Onset of Alzheimer's?

Maybe a pig brushed into it, scared themselves and knocked it somewhere? You have any cameras around there?

Happen to see any elephant tracks anywhere in the area?
...or empty moonshine jars at camp

Did you tell your wife? Did she later swear the two of you talked about a super cute shoe/purse purchase and you insisted she get said items? When you said there was no such conversation did she say yeah, just like you put that arrow in the ground? Hope she enjoys the new shoes/purse.

...I’m pretty sure I’ve experienced similar phenomena.

If a dog or yote or fox smelled blood or guts on the arrow they would run off with it for sure.

That's what I was thinking, just pushed your arrow right into the ground. Elephants are really good at hiding their tracks.

I've got a camera there. Already headed home before I thought to check it.

Had a crazy morning with tracking the doe across multiple properties (no recovery... I think brisket shot) and then finding this in a previously empty trap....
