Back in 2018 I posted this story https://discussions.texasbowhunter.c...d.php?t=717794 of my first real buck archery kill. I shot a few spikes in the past. It took me 10 years to finally seal the deal after passing on several and letting my son shoot some other good bucks.
Just my dad and I were in camp hunting the 60 farm he and my mother purchased a few years ago. It's not the biggest deer in the woods, but its special to me since it was my first buck on the family farm and the first I'd killed in my home county. Thus, I figured I'd get it mounted.
I dropped this off with my taxidermist and due to some unfortunate series of circumstances (taxi had a heart attack, a few other setbacks, then covid hit) it took a lot longer to get back than normal. However, I am happy with how it turned out.
