    Diesel Auxillary Tank

I have a friend that wants me to build him a diesel auxiliary tank for his pickup, and I am considering building a couple more to sell. I have done a little bit of research on the requirements, but I’ve had trouble finding much information. I know it has to have a vented cap with a rollover valve. Are there any other requirements and is there any certifications that they would have to have for me to be able to sell them?

I would put some baffles in it, and a 2" coupling on top of each side. One for the fill, and one for the pump. The cap should be self venting type. you should be good to go with that. Also put a drain on the bottom somewhere. A 1/2" coupling cut in half with a plug should be good.

This is the cap I would use.

Technically they're supposed to be DOT approved with a tag on the side of them.
