Best gas card?

I’ve never owned any type of credit card in my life. I’ve always just worked hard, saved up and bought what I wanted or needed. I’m 45 and almost completely debt free except for 1 small truck payment that will be gone in a few months.
That being said, my credit sucks because I have no debt or long term payments.
Thinking about getting my daughter a gas card to start building her some positive credit.
Is a gas card even the best way to go? What do You guys with cards and good credit history say?

Ps... I would make sure the statements come to me so I could monitor the payments.

Find something that has a reoccurring payment (ex Netflix $14.99 per month). Get a credit card and put that reoccurring charge on it and also set up a reoccurring payment. Then leave the card locked in your safe. You start building credit history this way and it’s low maintenance and you don’t have to worry about getting carried away.
