Happy Birthday to your grandfather! I enjoy hearing stories like this. Your dad went through some rough stuff overseas. He was one of the earlier to get drafted. I was just listening to some audio this week of my great grandfather who also served in Germany telling war stories. He was 4 years older than your grandfather and was in the 415 Infantry 104 Div. Like your grandfather, they also found a concentration camp. I went to Germany in Sept. '19 and crossed over to Belgium to visit the Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery. There I found the grave of one of his good friends that was KIA. It was a humbling experience being there amongst all of those brave men who gave the ultimate sacrifice. Visit your grandfather as often as you can! He is certainly a hero.Comment
