I’ve had an absolute blast this season hunting a big axis buck and logged in more hours on the stand than ever before. All that came crashing down yesterday morning when I got my first good look at him in person...he is really young imo. His body was about the size of a 1.5yo whitetail...only fatter. Hope he makes it a couple more season’s and gets the opportunity to spread his genes
I don't think he is real old but he isn't real young either. Axis have shorter legs than a WT so he may not look big but he is not a baby. Don't know how often you see them or how many you have? You could definitely give him another year or two but if you don't see many I don't know if I would, he's not a baby.
