Having a big swamp donkey flush from a briar thicket on a frosty morning in La. hunting rabbits with my dad's beagles.
Putting the thump on him with my 12 gauge Stevens single barrel loaded with OO Super X buckshot. |

Depp south texas like the Faith, Brisco or Galvan area close to the river. Christmas day, in the 40's, cruising around with rattling horns.

In a lock on tree stand up high in the Midwest middle of November. 40 degree morning hunt, slight north breeze! Thick travel corridor, big rutting buck chasing a doe, stop him with a Baa and let it rip.

If I could pick anywhere, it would be the old Freer place we had, cruising in a top drive during the rut. That or that same place during the rut on a cold rainy day driving and rattling every 500 yards with my grandpa, didn't even load the gun, just sat there and rattled and watched those bucks come busting through the brush to about 20 yards from you in the middle of the sendero.
Or one more morning/evening of driving around with my cousin and brother in Catarina stacking culls up and drinking beer while we jammed music in the polaris. |

Went last year to chase mulies, had a blast and was within 100 yards 4 different times, but could never close the deal. One guy had a 200" mulie at 108 yards but didnt have the time to get a shot off with his bow.

I'd go back to Ohio.
Hunting somewhere that actually has trees is amazing. I'm not the most avid whitetail hunter in the world but a big Midwestern deer is an amazing sight to see. After hunting in South Texas my whole life, its nice to get a change of scenery. |

Nothing quite like a big buck stepping out of a sendero in Old Mexico on a cool foggy morning

Currently, box blind at my little place in N Central TX on a quiet cold damp afternoon middle of the rut.
5-10 does and small bucks in plot/feeder pen at Sun down. I’m on high alert knowing any minute it could happen. Come on November! |

I would like to hunt the farm in Illinois again. Cool morning on an acorn ridge in a tree next to a White Oak. Yeah, that would be nice.
