I heard a coach say " don't evaluate the offers, evaluate the talent".... I got one of my guys that's a sophomore with D1 offers and wasn't the best player on my middle school team AND hasn't taken a snap on varsity...

I don't see Jimbo backing off as this kid is very likely his best opportunity for a flip. After a quick glance at the Aggies offers at QB, they're all committed elsewhere. IMHO, Malachi is highly unlikely as he was committed to Lincoln at OU and then followed him to SC. That dude is playing the bag game and will get his coffers filled buy the West Coast Alumni.

It'll definitely be interesting to see how "All In" they go in pursuit of a QB for this class.

In regards to QB's for every class, what is the point anymore? With the transfer portal doing its thing and a very high percentage of 4 and 5 * qb's not every playing out why not focus on real areas of need when recruiting and then picking up a qb out of the portal? It seems alot of energy is spent chasing these primadonna qb's which end up being a waste.

Good point. Typically, a highly sought after QB will end up being the bell cow for a class (Whether Arch ends up being worth a **** or not, they received 10 commitments within 9 days). If the Ags could find a way to flip Malachi, it'll flip a lot of kids down the stretch for another incredible class. Otherwise. They're behind the ball this year. It was a huge deal for them to get him on campus.

Sounds like Notre Dame is in the mix for Novosad. Can't blame him for not be interested in A&M, they haven't been all in on him, and the weekend he comes to the pool party, the hot topic is whether or not Malechi will flip.

Ohio State, Notre Dame and A&M were all in for a flip. They all made a late push. He put all of it to rest for now.

Edit: I can see BU doing +1 or -1 from that. Could see Aggie going +1 on that, Tech could see doing -1 or -2 wins, UT who knows but would think +2 could be done and TCU i think 6-6 is ceiling.

I think the teams are teasing with him too. He is one that most people on the inside think he is not worth his "recruiting rankings." and some teams are slow playing him.

There are all sorts of degrees of offers. While he may have a committable offer from everyone, they may have asked him to hold off committing at this time (for whatever reason) as well. There is also times the player can feel the school or coach is ghosting them or slow playing them as well. I heard he tried to commit to a few schools and this was the case, but not sure how true that is so probably shouldn't even make the comment.

Big guys are the hardest to project, so my philosophy is you take as many as you can and figure it out down the road to what the develop into. He has the measurables. I could be 100% wrong on him, just the chatter I heard as he was getting close to committing to Texas a few weeks ago. It was met with very mixed feelings on him. I saw take the big guy!

Chad -I think this is close. I could see A&M winning one or two more if they find their stride. UT could easily go 7-5 to 8-4 all depending on our QB play and most importantly if our defense shows or not? BU and Tech seem right to me.

That is interesting. I was kinda bummed by his lack of interest in UT and thought he was a hot commodity. You never know. Like I've always thought, its like picking puppies... some are super, some are stinkers...

Typically you "hear" these type of comments when a recruit decides NOT to come to your school. What makes me tend to believe what I heard is this was when he was really close to committing to Texas and people were split on taking his commitment.

Like anything in recruiting, some truth with mostly BS mixed in to fit your agenda is what I have learned.

I wasnt sure where to put them so just repeated last years record but said i could see that less 1 or 2 wins. Def not homer prediction, they've sucked for 10 years. But lets not forget that they were a 4Q fumble and FG attempt from beating KSU, a game they led majority, and a missed FG with time expiring from beating BU. With both of those they'd of been 9-4 & over .500 in the big12, all while firing the HC mid season and while honestly not being all that good on paper. "If If's and but's were candy & nuts"....i get it, but they finished strong...unlike some other teams. The lopsided losses are of concern on D but hoping new coaches and transfers can turn that around. When Kittley's Offense starts clicking, get used to seeing ungodly numbers like days of old. I would be happy with a first year 6-6 but not expecting more or less one way or the other in year 1.

As stated i could also see UT going 8-4 but to foolishly assume they are going to be good or "back"

is the same song and dance that's been played in ATX for the last 10 years so i guess, Cheers to Optimism to us both, from both sides.

I am not quite sure Baylor goes 9-3. Feels like 8-4 is just as likely as 9-3 to me. Secondary play might be a little spotty and if the offense cant win a few shootouts I think 4 losses is easy.
