May be a repost but I couldn't find a thread.

Long story short is that over a week ago a Texas State student was driving home for Christmas and his car was found wrecked. When the cops got there he was just gone. Teams searched for over a week and even brought in dogs and nothing. Anyone have any theories what happened? I think he wrecked then walked for days to find help and eventually died in the middle of nowhere.

They found his phone in his car. I don’t have any idea what happened but first thing I’m looking for after a crash is my phone unless injury keeps me from doing that. If he was injured that bad he would be at the scene. Strange for sure

This happened right down the rd from where I work. Very strange deal. He hit a tree but the back of his car is screwed up too. Like someone rear ended him

I have been keeping an eye on it . Seems something shady went down . Not sure how he got on the road he wreaked on . Not really on his way home .

Haven't heard about it and I'm no Sherlock Holmes but if he crashed and didn't take his phone before leaving the scene there's a chance he didn't leave the scene willingly. Plus he's not anywhere around there.......pretty sure someone else took him. People don't just disappear.

I have been somewhat following this story. Sad deal for all involved, but the outcome doesn't look good.
You never know what someone is involved with, My extended family had a similar experience, turns out there was a whole lot more going on than anyone knew.
Something just sounds fishy to me...

I don't think it has anything to do with him not wanting to be found. More likely he was killed. Could have been a drug deal gone bad or crazy gambling debt. He could be innocent of any wrong doings and was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

However, he missed his turn to go home. People have stated that it is easy to miss this turn at night and unfamiliar, distracted etc. However, they also stated that after half a mile you realize you need to turn around. His car was 4 or 5 miles I believe from the missed road.

There is nothing on this road except landowners, hunters, oil pump workers, and cattle leasees. At night, most likely only thing out there is TROUBLE especially on Christmas. He just disappears without a trace? the back end of the car is jacked up too? I am thinking more along the lines he was meeting someone out there and it didn't go well for him.

I have been following trying to figure out how he got on Salt Flat road. Only was was if he stayed straight at the light on 80. But that doesn’t take you to 10. Rear car damage but hit a tree. Road rage gone bad? Something just doesn’t sound right.

Whatever happened, my heart breaks for his parents. You send your kid off to college worried about how bad the real world is. Sometimes, for some folks, it’s just as bad as your worst fears.

I kid my wife that anytime she calls one of our four girls and they don’t answer, she automatically assumes they are dead in a ditch somewhere.....But this is why. Things like this keep parents up at night. Prayers up for this family and may God keep the rest of our kids safe.

I don't believe he missed his turn either. Surely he has made that trip home more than once.

Google Earth search of the area where his car crashed appears to be a pretty sketchy area. I bet someone local knows something or is directly involved with his disappearance. There’s a “Disposal” company right there and it wouldn’t surprise me to find out they house a few shady folks...capable of getting rid of things.

Sad deal for his family. Not knowing has to be the hardest part.

Man you aint kidding. I have a daughter, she is 13. I have no idea how I am gonna let her go to college. It is something I am struggling with. Do you have any words of wisdom? I have 3 sons, but boys are different than girls. I have been meaning to pose this question here on TBH.

My wife's boss parents own that land with the pond. Just a small world we live in. He didn't know any other details about the case

Maybe I have my timeline wrong but how would it take over a week to find that 100' from the site? There were thousands of search members and some had bloodhounds and it took over a week to find a backpack with drugs near the car?

I agree, I am thinking they found this sooner and it is just now leaked out. I thought I had read that his wallet and phone were in the car when first reported. Now a backpack with his wallet and narcotics are found a 100 yds away?

I’m getting mine into jiu jitsu- I can’t think of another extra curricular activity with more of an effective life skill you can learn.

This is a weird deal. I know they found a backpack full of narcotics near his car, but if this was a drug deal gone wrong why weren't they taken?

Feel horrible for the Family - Cannot begin to imagine.

Son has done wrestling. 3 Daughters have done mma at those rockstar places. They hit the heavy bag 2x a week with punches.

I'm overprotective by Nature, but having 3 girls 14/14/10 has scared me to death since my oldest was born.

I had a lease not far from there, up toward Lytton Springs some 15 odd years ago. It was a sketchy area. We had issues with theft, vandalism and poaching. Couldn't get out of there fast enough

My daughter is a freshman there, she's had a few updates from her sorority sisters but nothing of real magnitude. It scares me to death every time she goes anywhere. I cant imagine what the family is going through.

My exact thoughts. Feel bad for the family suffering. I went to college with a guy from Luling he was an odd duck.

So there saying he got naked on that gravel road on a cold nite??? And his digital trail stopped at that intersection? I was on salt flat road the other day and had fine cell reception. Story keeps getting stranger.

Not sure of all the details, but there are plenty of very well documented cases of hypothermia in which the victim will get completely naked.

This is truly a strange and sad case altogether.

I have felt since day one it was a drug deal gone bad. JMO.

Like said in another post, regardless of the situation, as a parent the unknown has to be tearing at their hearts. Can't imagine it.

When you add drugs to a situation, logic goes out the window. At who knows what crazy stuff happened. He may have climbed up a tree and died or something something else even more crazy is quite possible. Whatever happened it's not a normal missing person deal.

Probably not the case case here but in high school in the 80’s we had a kid who staged the scene leaving some of his blood in his abandoned car so he could run off to San Fran.
