Okay guys take a look at these two. I found these as a kid along the same creek about 100 yards apart. The one on the left is the first arrowhead I ever found. I've been staring at the ground ever since.

I've never really known what they may be. These were found in Upshur county in east TX.

Kickerpoint, Those are probably Yarborough. They both have a little bit of a Wilson look but I cant see grinding.

Here are some I have IDed and will post for your reference... If anybody sees an error let me know.

From top group to bottom: top tortuga/matamoros, middle desmuke, and bottom is abasolo.

from top to bottom: perdenales, langtry, scallorn, toyah, perdiz, Williams, frio

Top golondrina, middle Plainview drill and bottom angostura

Great stuff Reel. A couple of those birdies might be Perdiz too. Also after looking at the close ups I concede the Typical south Texas stuff. I sure was wanting to see a clear flute and microflaking on that small one with the broke ear. Looks like there is a nice Early triangular in there though.

Thanks, I have been following your thread and it is absolutely amazing. It has gave me some good ideas on how to excavate my property (where the trans paleo stuff came from).

You never know what someone might stumble upon... A guy at work found this barber (at least I think it is) and they are one of the rarest points in Texas. He only has about 20-30 points total. It is ground down both side about an inch.

Yep, A guy on this site went out and found a mini Clovis made of crystal a few weeks ago. It was his second or third point ever.

Some very nice finds guys, thanks for sharing I have some more I will try and post tonight, even have one I bought at trades day (before I knew better) that is suppose to be authentic but ill let ya'll be the judge.

Really can't put an id on that piece. That is one beat to hell arrowhead. I have found many of them and keep them too. I'm guessing a surface find?

Yeah, after a heavy rain in a washout going into a tank. Figured it was pretty busted up, but thought it was neat to actually find something.

Looks to be bison,the bone was split and the marrow extracted cool finds.

Probably a Refugio knife which is about 3000-4000 year old

Armadillophil, next time you dig that overhang bag up some charcoal. That can be carbon dated to see how old everything is. Now that I think about it, the bone material may be able to be dated also. It's very cool to see the bone. Not something you see every day.

I have been leaning on paleo since i found it.. its so well made and the flaking is awesome..but like you said its herd to tell without the base thanks for the input

I assume this is a trade pipe, but can the pattern be identified as to how old and its origin? Found it while shooting carp on some shallow flats back in May. Tried to find the other half of the bowl but couldn't. Lots of nice points in the area as well, but doubtful from the same period.

Do you think it could be a Refugio knife? It appears to have some parallel flaking on one site and random flaking on the other... Without seeing it in person I am just guessing the parallel was just accidental. Also don't see any real overshot flakes (which occur on a lot of large thin paleo blades).

Yes, I think it could be as well as a number of other Archaic knife types. Now for the overshot, Im not sure it wasn't origionally overshot and the resharpening eliminated a lot of that, The face of the blade is pretty flat. Just hard to say without a base or context.

The pink birdie looks like an Edwards and the white is a scallorn. There is also a perdenales (u shaped back), a bunch of tools/scrapers, some tortugas (triangles) and what looks like some Darls (narrower side notched points). Also, some that can't be identified, not enough there.

If you have one in particular you would like identified, post it seperate or point out which one and will try to ID.

I've posted this pic before but these are just a few of my favorite surface finds from Aguilares, Texas. My uncle found this this really cool rock that was turned into a snake head on the ranch, I'll have to get a pic of it but do any of y'all know what the purpose of it might be?
