After hearing a “near griz” story from a young hunter I met on closing day of elk (he got in-between a griz sow and her cub a few weeks ago. He’s OK but the encounter was in the Tobacco Roots mountains less than 10 miles from our house)- I decided to upgrade from a Serpa holster on my pack’s hip belt to a Diamond D cross chest holster for my XDm 10mm bear defense gun.

I pray I never need to use it. A Montana local told me I was carrying too much ammo- “After 3 rounds either the bear or you is dead”.

Picked up a threaded Henry Big Boy in 45 LC, and a Benelli Ethos 28 gauge today at Basspro. I'm really digging the wood and engraving on the Benelli. Anybody have in 45 LC ammo??

26"! I wanted the 28" but this is what they had in stock. I've got a bunch of shotguns but this is the first that has a 26" pipe so figured I'd give it a go. Should be a fun one assuming I don't have to run through 4 boxes to get a limit of birds!
