Anyone had a torn biceps surgical repair?

I posted a thread in ATC about this. I'm a little more interested in whether any traditional shooters have had this done and how it feels to shoot now. (Bow arm.) Compound didn't hurt at all but my recurve and longbows killed me.
I know mark at KC'S had it done I am going to call and bug him about it tomorrow. My surgery was this morning and I already am itching to shoot. Gonna be a little while though.

Im sure w any surgery u will need to rehab and take it slow. U dont want to reinjure yourself. Most people if u work out your legs it helps keep ur upper body toned.

I would recommend talking with your rehab specialist if you have one and in incorporate a bow trainer into your rehab work. Not sure what the brand name is but it is basically a carbon stick with various weight rubber bands on it. I know several guys that have had biceps tendons repaired and they still shoot. So it is possible just don't rush it.

I did but mine was from riding bulls I don't shoot traditional and since I didn't do the rehab I can't turn my forearm which is probably a good thing lol!! Keeps me from torquing my bow

Well I plan on taking it slow it's not really a question right now as I am mega sore. I'm going to build me a 30 lb bow to work on my strength once I get healed up then work my way back up to my 50 lb bows.

I did. I could shoot my recurve several months before I could my compound. Mine was accompanied by a shoulder rebuild also.

My main problem was my shoulder when they did the surgery is when it was discovered my bicep tendon was almost completely severed n2! It was hanging on by a thread literally.

A good surgeon and Rehab is everything. I traveled to Austin to have Dr. Seade of Austin Orthopedics do mine. I will say the bicep healed extremely faster than the shoulder part.
