Hey guys, I was wondering if Sam Houston Forest was a good place to go hunting in? For deer, or for hogs?
If not, whats some good public land hunting?

There is a 2010/11SHNF thread and a 2009/10 SHNF thread. Check those out.
SHNF is decent, supposedly the national forest further east are less pressured due to extra distance from population centers.

They are good, but you will have to work at getting a deer. Go East farther from Houston and they are less pressured (as stated above).
