I’d add additional snares after the crossing, making a few trails with light brush, or maybe toss a foothold in the mix.
From your pics I wouldn’t leave slack in the cable, also back it off the fence a bit. As they are crawling under it’s harder to snag them. When they are coming up the other side their heads in a better position.
I use small guide sticks placed upright and stuck into the ground on each side of the snare. Then use a small piece of aluminum wire to hang the snare on the fence.
I purchased some new snares and am using a lot thicker gauge wire to hold the spring and snare into place. We are seeing less snares knocked over now after using a thicker gauge wire to hold it into place.
I thought about going with the body traps. I know a lot of people that use them and catch a lot of coyotes. I'm sure they are more consistent on catching/killing coyotes but my 6-yr old son likes to help me set these up and I don't want him near one of those body traps.
Awsome! I just started snaring, too. I set out 1 snare for a hog and caught one the first evening. I had a big bloop, but it was a big hog and I got him around the snout.
