Lake Whitney and Lake Aquilla 2016-2017 - New Season!!

Let's get a new year thread for the upcoming season. Keep it as in the past with reports, pics and hopefully LDP's.... Won't be long boys....

Well that's an interesting opening. New thread usually starts second weekend of August. And/Or right after the Cleburne G2G in August. Kinda like when the new licenses go on sale . But that's OK. What's tradition? Besides, since the closing of the Caddo Street Grill and Bar where we've held the last 9 or so Annual Cleburne Area Get-2-Gethers & Pool Parties, if I don't' find a place for the G2G, we may not have one this year.

Well Mike, you never did post the unofficial official rulebook for creating new threads, so I doubt he knew!

I went out yesterday to scout. Good gosh the water was high recently!

"unofficial official rulebook": It's all there in past threads Kirby. Just got to read them all .

Your right Kirby. Prob didn't know. A regular participant/contributor to the threads would have known. That is how the new thread starter is usually picked; by thread participation. Actually, it goes back past the Annual G2Gs; before the big crash of 2006. There are usually questions by new participants as to when the new thread is going to be started. But that's OK . Maybe it's time for a change.

Edit: Dogh! that sounds like Obomeey!

And yes, the water was up 28 feet above normal this past June. It's finally down to 3" above normal at this very moment. It peaked at 561.33 ft. That's 28 feet and 1 inch more that what it is right now.

We have been doing some early scouting to check out what the flooding has done. Lots of blood weed, devils claw and a few snakes. We have seen a few deer and lots of pigs. It's really hot and dry hate to say but we need some rain!! Good luck!!
