I’m trying to put a group together for a 13,000 acre ranch south of sabina’s about 8 miles. This is past the second point. Less people willing to do this so ranches seem to average 2k per man in this area. Less hunting pressure. There’s a big house with power. This ranch has about 2 miles of Sabina’s river frontage. There was a group on this ranch for 20 years that got off last year. I’ve got a bunch of their pics and pics off neighboring ranches. Text me and I’ll send them, hard on this website. This ranch is in red dirt from the little volcano a few miles away. The area is known for producing some heavy horns. I got on this ranch in sept last year and didn’t hunt it much, was too spread out across 5 ranches across Texas and mex. I’m consolidating my efforts and will be on a few ranches in this area. The group that got off after 20 years didn’t hunt it much their last few years either with COVID in for swing, they only had a few guns their last few years. The owner is looking for 6 guns at 3k each or 18k for the ranch. One trophy/ one management deer per hunter. I’ll be taking one spot. 5 available. No dedicated spots. There’s 4 pins, no stands, I’ve got a couple of feeders there. Call or text 512-789-5722 for more info.

Anybody hunting on Pipeline Road? Got offered spot on 3500 acres 3 hunters . I only hunt with bow but that's my preference. Worried about driving my 21' Chevy duramax down there. What about atv, trailers?

Angadi advises You should get paperwork on truck, trailer, and 4 wheeler before opening weekend to avoid lines that hold up holiday traffic of opening season inside the office. Ask one of the hunters that has crossed vehicles to help you. You still need a hunters agreement with your bow. I crossed bows without one lots of times but the ANGADI website says its requirement now. You will not get a green light hooked to a trailer with a 4 wheeler at Columbia (very bad odds). At the end of the season you may ck out but you must return with the same trailer & 4 wheeler. To have your credit card credited. Expect a 8940 pesos charge going in About 450.

Last year…It cost us a Benjamin each to get our F350s permitted. Landowner should be able to arrange it.

Are y’all crossing second checkpoint going in? I’m 20 miles past the border. No second checkpoint for me. Website says no permit needed for trailers in the “safe zone”. I have to take a trailer across to pick up a lease ride in a couple weeks so just checking. Hoping to not have to deal with permits. I’m in an f250 also.

We do. Pipeline is pretty rough but doable. I was nervous about that too at first. Now we race down it to the lease lol. I take a new f250 down there. Just keep that tire pressure a little lower than normal and it’s not so bad. And as I’m sure you already know stay off pipeline after dark.

Columbia can be challenging at times. I personally can’t get a trailer past them without permits. It was Before second checkpoint.

I know mine covered 25 miles in, I would pull my Ranger and trailer across at Falcon. Proof of ownership/registration was required for my trailer and bill of sale from the dealership for my Ranger….they would look it over real good.

I was told I wasn’t allowed to have the rifle checked in this year until I had (truck, trailer, ranger) permitted. There was a young woman “giving examples on the whole paperwork process” to another young woman. I have 2 different trucks that are crossing often into Mexico. One goes to Monterrey. It pops up on their screen returning home. Extra questions no big deal. I was crossing in the F350 and somehow the girls wrote the info of the F150 and I didn’t catch the mistake until trying to check out. So I still need to load the trailer and return to Mex in the F150 to cancel the permit to have that card credited. Im only 11 miles from the river so its not that big a deal. Permisso expires May 29th, so I have until then to forget about it

Made a trip down last weekend. Brush is looking good and our deer were about 80% shed in very good shape given this time of year. Hopefully these waves of moisture keep coming. Big cats and fighting robbed us of a few good ones. Spring is definitely in the Air

Found it. Now whether the border employees actually all follow these same guidelines is a crap shoot. It seems the rules always change according to who’s working at the time.

So after looking at web site and since I was told ranch on pipeline road is 15 miles from border I should be able to to drive into Mexico without permit. Does that mean I can pull trailer and atv also without permits? Also not sure which bridge to cross. The guy offering spot on ranch has been hunting years in Mexico and makes it sound easy but he's friend of a friend in my hometown.I'm just trying to to verify info . Checked my Progressive Insurance good for 25 miles.

I’ll let you know in a couple weeks when I cross Columbia Crossing with a 20 foot utility trailer. The guys that just got off our lease did not have to permit their trailers. Just show registration paperwork. But like I said, the rules seem to be sketchy at best depending on who’s working.

Shouldn’t need a permit for truck or trailer unless you go past interior checkpoint (25K mark). They have in recent years been making people get a permit on ATV’s at most of the bridges. The only bridge I know that hasn’t been requiring a permit for ATV’s is Laredo bridge and Falcon Lake crossing.

Spent 5 days earlier this month driving all through the interior of Mexico down to and past Mexico City. Never felt scared at any point despite being told before leaving from every gringo I know that this gringo wasn't going to make it back alive. Saw plenty of beautiful hunting opportunities (cheap!) and am starting to think about it. Only thing is that I flew in and dodged all the border crossings and border towns, and most of the locals told me thats where are all the problems for me would be. Wouldn't be worth it to have to fly in everytime to hunt.

Most on this post have been hunting Mx for many many years and haven’t experienced anything significant enough to stop us from driving into Mx. Take that for what its worth.
