I haven’t hunted yet…hoping to next week after the cool front comes through. Most likely it will be the week after though. Lots of acorns on the ground at my place, although small. Lot of bucks at the feeders including some good ones from last year. Not seeing many doe at the feeders which seems odd for this time of year. We will see!

I came down tonight. The pigs are camping out at my feeders. Hoping to thin a couple out in the morning. The bucks are starting to show up on camera. Seem to still be grouped up. Ready for some cool weather to keep them moving.

I hope we got enough to get my seeds growing. They’ve been thirsty for a while.

Was out at ranch sunday and it's still crazy dry, guessing we missed all the rain last sat/sunday. Watching radar today and looking like we missed most of it today as well. Not sure how much longer we can take these conditions, ranchers/farmers in the area are really hurting.

Had some light sprinkles throughout the day and some short showers right at dark. Good line of storms heading this way so maybe we will finally get lucky

Good rain but band is narrow so I'm not holding out much hope. Better than nothing!

Got little over an inch at the house and fingers crossed for more friday. On another note there's been a solid 8 tending a doe down below the house last 2 days.

I haven’t been to ranch yet on south side of NM lake but on north side towards frost they got about 1” so hoping we got at least that much. Really need 2-3” more but grateful for what we got so far.

I’m headed to ranch gonna climb in the stand for an evening hunt and check rain totals so far. Hoping the rain holds off until dark and then we get some more. I’ll update if it is needed.

Got rained out, starting raining again right after feeder went off. Also cows were hanging around so I called it. I poured out 3” which was since Sunday. Food plots were starting to sprout so may have something by next weekend.

Anyone been out the last few days? How is movement? I'm trying to decide between Navarro or Oklahoma, leaning toward Navarro for this weekend. Wind is gonna be wrong for alot of my stands tho.

I’ve had bucks moving all day long over the last few days. Then nothing today.
The weather is going to be a wash tomorrow but when it clears out tomorrow night and the temp drops... I expect Saturday to be pretty good.

Saw a good amount chasing going early this week. Last few days have been slow.

Food plots are up and weather is forecasted for cooler mornings this weekend. Now just have to keep an eye out for army worms till the first freeze.

The storm just passed through Navarro. The wind is supposed to shift out of the north after dark and temp drop by daylight. The morning should be great.

The deer were moving pretty good Saturday morning. The. Saturday evening it shut off. Very few hit the feeders. Some younger bucks were chasing pretty hard. Hoping the cold front next weekend gets them hitting the feeders a little harder.

Saw bucks chasing does a lot. Never saw anything big. What a weird 3 days of weather for sure. Moon is dang near full and acorns all over at our place (smaller than last year).

Saw three bucks this morning chasing does. They are active and the moon is perfect. I was drinking coffee so just watching from the kitchen. It's cold!

It’s weird, had a lot of activity friday at one of my feeders, took one of my daughters Saturday evening and saw one buck cross early then nothing else. Then today very active again. Activity has been heavy (except when we are in stand) pretty much all day so get in the stand early and stay late.

Anyone get some meat this weekend? Rain was a bummer but I saw a lot of activity Including two small bucks fighting in the back yard. Saw one shooter buck but not an ideal shot even with a rifle.

Been pretty slow for mature bucks at my place this year. Good number of doe for our area. I just really haven’t seen but your bucks that I want to shoot.

How'd every body fair this yr? Any kills to report? I finally had a wide 8 that i have history on show up consistent last two weeks of the season, just couldn't catch up to him. About to start off season work of clearing more brush in some thick areas. My deer numbers have improved over last 2-3 yrs but keeping decent bucks around seems to be an issue. I typically feed yr round and plant summer food plots as well as fall. I'm going to take the suggestion of some of the youtube "pros" and not feed supplemental feed in the off spring/summer. See if it disperses the doe population some and creates open space for bucks in the fall. Exact opposite of what I've been trying but getting to the point where I want to try something new to attract more bucks. My place seems to have become a doe and yearling buck magnet.
Also going to move some stand sites and reduce the overall number of hunting sites/feeders and add more stands for wind direction to each site.

No deer killed this year! My backup plan is a spring time axis from my buddies place.

Saturday morning I was shocked! Saw 9 bucks in our field. A few spikes and 2 8 points and some others mixed in. The bigger bucks were still fighting but they were all hanging together and I guess left as friends. The eight points should be shooters next year I'm betting.

Pretty sure I had 2 bucks chasing a doe last weekend. As far as I can tell our ratio is around 2d:1b.

Previous to this the bucks were bachelored up and hadn't been around much.

I did a lot of brush work and dig two ponds so deer sightings have been low around me this spring but honestly hoping it dispersed some of the mature doe. The natural forage is abundant.
