We have a Rainsoft salt system for our house. I just drank some water from the sink faucet and it’s very salty. How do I bypass the system till I can get a service man to look at it. There is a T shaped key on top of the unit. Two slots, one for intake, and one going to water heater(I think) I tried to turn the key, but I didn’t want to break the valve-felt stuck. Do I turn it anyway?

Check the salt level. If they run empty they can get a little salty.
