    Christian Health Sharing Programs??

We currently have BCBS and its now open enrollment time. The monthly cost is getting crazy so thinking of switching to a Christian Health Sharing Program.

    Which one do you use?
Have you been happy with it?
    Any issues getting reimbursed?
Is there ALOT of paperwork to get reimbursed?
    Does it pay for prescriptions?

Just starting to gather info on it so any help is greatly appreciated?

You would be surprised. Have you ever had a cold, the flu, broken a bone, any form of an illness, any form of musculoskeletal injury??? All of those are pre-existing conditions that can/will affect a diagnosis in the future.

Just be careful, do your research and read all of the documentation. Most groups have a 2 year exclusion period for any pre-existing condition.

Someone mentioned last year on here that the uptake has fallen off a lot since introduced a few years ago. Interesting to see % of folks that have jumped on that bandwagon.

This time of year (open enrollment) we get 10-15 calls a day regarding healthcare coverage. Less than 1% of those fit into a FHS program.

We have Liberty. It's great. Our daughter had a preexisting condition of epilepsy when we switched to this company from BCBS. Anything due to her epilepsy is not covered for 1 year from enrollment but that is only thing that is not covered from day 1. Any other issues at all are covered from day 1 for her.

It's a heck of a lot cheaper and more comprehensive package than what we had through BCBS or Aetna

However, our family does not frequent the doctors office and are not on any meds. May not be best option for others. It just happens to be working for our situation.

I finally tested Christian Healthcare Minstiries this year. 4 previous years of just paying bills and never using it...

Handled my claim (substantial) very well. And made me feel more confident moving forward.

IMO it's how healthcare/health insurance should be done. STOP overpaying for stuff you can pay outta pocket for cheaper.

As mentioned, there are some drawbacks, so do your research.

We are happy with Christian Healthcare Ministries. Been using them for 3-4 years. We have not had any major health bills yet though.
