Aoudad fiasco, FINALLY back from taxi and

[UltraMax]

I shot this aoudad in October of 2017 in Terlingua. It is the biggest animal I’ve ever killed and it scored SCI Gold.

I took it to my local taxidermist and he did a terrible job on his eyes. I hated it and it was an (pardon the pun) eye sore in my house. I will not say who that taxi is because he is a good dude, but he and I got a little crossed ways when I asked him to repair the eyes.

Anyway, I decided I would not give him anymore business and on the way back to Terlingua for an another aoudad for my dad, we dropped my Aoudad off at Safari Studios in San Angelo.

I must say I am beyond happy with the way his eyes look now and the price was VERY affordable for the repair. Also the turnaround time was like light speed.

The guys at Safari Studios are top notch and I would recommend them to anyone.

Use them, you won’t be disappointed.

Yep, I would say that’s an improvement. It’s amazing how much eyes affect mounts. The eyes are what makes most bobcat mounts look horrible. Every bobcat mount I have seen that has realistic eyes, look amazing even if the other aspects aren’t good.

That first Taxi must have been going for the Tweaker-Aoudad look. That thing looked jacked out of his mind. Glad you got him into rehab and cleaned him up. Huge improvement.

But I would have told the original taxi his work is his calling card and a crudy looking mount is a bad reference for him
