Made some tiny spears.

Didn't say you poked it....I just know that from what I hear at Thompson's they are pretty easy to get real close to. Did you throw it at them? If so, how far? Is it hard to keep the spear online? All questions I have only because I might want to try this spear hunting.

It's Friday and PAY DAY!

Not sensitive, I followed a certain one (Catalina) for 5 hrs and threw it about 12 yards. Hurt my shoulder. Won’t do that again. The rest have been from a tripod within 8’ from the base. I have no desire to try for the ones I can walk up to.

So what would you recommend to be the furthest to take a throw at one?

I practiced for 6 months throwing it before I ever tried at an animal. My throwing range is about 8 yards. I’d rather sit in a tripod and throw down at them. Easier on the shoulders. But you may be a better aim than I so whatever you are consistent at.

Between shoulders. Lungs are tighter to shoulders than a deer.

my quad pod has a 6’ base. He was about 3’ out from legs

I got busted trying to kill a pig with an arlatl and 8 times before I got one. About a 6 yards shot on a small 50# dumb one. Most excitement I’ve ever had hunting. Congrats sir. That is awesome

Lloyd. I had some guys at a trad shoot show me. I was throwing way too hard and violently. Once I calmed down I was less than pie plate at 15 yards. You have killed some awesome critters with a spear. Again my hat is off to you
