Default Purell...does NOT kill the virus.

Public service announcement:

Purell is alcohol-free, and therefore, is not effective against the virus. To work, it must contain at least 60% alcohol.

Default Purell...does NOT kill the virus.

FYI the company I work for sells germ-x and hospital grade disinfectants.

Some of our hospital grade disinfectants kill the Coronavirus that has been around for a while but we are waiting on testing for the Covid19 strain thatís causing all the ruckus now. July seems to be the earliest we will hear back from the FDA.

We were told strictly to sell on proper hygiene/cleanliness and to make no claims that any of our products kill the Covid19 strain of Coronavirus.

But it only works twice between hand washing, If you use it without washing it forms a film on your hand and germs can set on the film. This is coming from medical experts in my family.

Default D-I-Y Sanitizer

I made up a batch of hand sanitizer last night.

2/3 cup of 91% Isopropyl alcohol

1/3 cup of aloe vera gel

2 tbsp of hydrogen peroxide

I'm having to be extra careful because of my age and a compromised immune system due to a health issue.

Make it in your bathtub in big batches and sell it on craigslist. You'll make a fortune!

My bad for not typing out more of the article.

"Some of the hand sanitizers made by the brands Purell and Germ-X rely on benzalkonium chloride instead of alcohol as the active ingredient."

Purell ADVANCED has 70% alcohol, but regular Purell apparently does not contain alcohol. The key is to check the ingredients.

I believe the wipes may be different than many of the liquid forms so always good to check. i know my kids like the wipes better, probably not as safe though.
