Rick Ocasek dies at age 70

Lead singer of The Cars. Their songs were part of the soundtrack of a fun part of my life I remember fondly. Their heyday was late 70’s early 80s when I was just out of college and all things seemed possible. A few that immediately come to mind:

    “Just What I Needed”
    “You Might Think”
    “Good Times Roll”
    “ Best Friends Girl”

Who can listen to "Moving In Stereo", and not see Phoebe Cates, climbing out of the swimming pool in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"?

              Not me

Although nowhere near as famous as T Boone, I’d add Daniel Johnston to the trifecta since he’s critically acclaimed in the music industry.

True story - I was about 11 or 12 years old when I was sitting in school and a boy asked me if I liked the Doors. I looked at the doors to the classroom and said, "I guess so...." and gave him a weird look. He said, "Not those doors, THE Doors!" "um... I'm not sure what you are talking about." He laughed and said, "I guess you don't know about the Cars, either, do you?"

Nope. I was not into music back then.
