Ok,

Lets try this instead of looking in 2 or 3 different places.

Lets put the maps at the top of the page for quick reference.

I have never hunted out there but was involved in a rescue class one night out there. We saw a lot of hogs at night near and underneath the rail bridge on the road heading to Taylor.
I would like to get in on some of the hunting one day if you have room in your groups

Default granger maps

Use the roman numeral checkpoints when describing locations, example. "I stuck a hog 200 yards W of checkpoint VI in area (gate) #7 last night, right up against the river".

not really, especially if your a farmer, I wish they would get seriously thinned out, they are nothing but destructive little bulldozers and encroach on the whitetails habitat.

WOW you got pics of hogs during the day at Granger? I ran 2 even 3 cameras out there last year, over bait, under pecan trees, along rub lines, around wallows and never got pics of them during the day. Will you disclose the location?

Land is in williamson county, you have to have a $48 type II permit, its archery and crossbow only for hogs.

the lake is unbelievably low.... many of the cuts, shallows, lagoons that you see on google maps is hard ground now.

Well first thing yesterday morning me and my wife went to Georgetown for my wifes ultrasound. She is five months pregnant with our first child and we found out that we are having a a boy. We are very excited! Since I took the day off I decided to go to Granger. I put my boat in at the primitive boat ramp and crossed the river. I already had it planned out that I was going to hit a certain briar patch first. When I made it to the briar patch there were two hunters sneeking up on some hogs, they got there before I did. They're stalk was unsuccessfull, so we talked for a while and I found out where they had already been, and decided to go where they havn't so I walked in about a mile and decided to start sneeking aroung on the edge of the woods and bloodweeds. The birds were in the bloodweeds making lots of noise which ended up helping me out. I only stalked for about 15 minutes at the new spot before I got on a group of 5 hogs and took the first one that offered me a shot. The shot was at 15 yards broadside, I nailed him and he only went 20 yards.

WOW.... what a day for you!! Congrats on your soon to be "New Addition" and again on the hog. It's getting much more rare to catch them out of the weeds during day light to get a shot.

Hunted all day, got on a group in the blood weeds, they spooked and went to private land. Probably 30 in the group. No shots.

I hunted #7 for about an hour from 5:30 to 6:30 pm today. I prowled the thickets on the north side of the river, north and NW of checkpoint III. Nothing seen, but I flushed several mallard ducks off of the river. Can you hunt ducks with a bow on Granger right now?

Duck season is over for the year. I want to say you can hunt duck with a bow, but not sure if Granger has special restrictions.

I know #6 and #7 where the primitive ramp area is gets alot of attention in the spring by fisherman, and the game warden and guys who run the WMA so make sure you guys have the $48 permit and follow all the rules to a T, they catch alot of illegals and migrant workers from mexico fishing that area and issue alot of citations.

I was out at Granger this morning at gate #7 to do a little fishing... I couldn't even get a bite from a mosquito!! Saw some hunters out there, didn't see anyone bring anything back. Spotted a red F150 with a TBH sticker.

I went out there yesterday morning 1-30-09 me and a buddy got on a group not far from the primitive camp ground. I took my recurve in hopes of getting my first harvest with it. My buddy pushed some by me and I managed to get a shot off at 15 yards but I hit the hog to far back and I couldn't find it.

They ran out of the brush and I pushed them to #2 on the gate six photo, they headed throught that field and made a turn to the south towards 7, I was trying to keep up with them but my rangefinder fell off and i lost them.

I did see the Ranger at 6 when I was eating lunch, he just drove through and waved.
