As many know, Mathews launched their 2021 bow lineup last Tuesday. As part of our sponsorship arrangement with Mathews, we were supposed to have a couple of the new models in hand on or before the launch. Unfortunately a series of issues delayed the shipment and arrival of the bows until late this afternoon. Although we knew which new models were part of the lineup after last Tuesday’s launch, the exact models and color combinations they sent was a surprise until I inboxed them in my garage earlier!
We knew one would be the new ladies bow, the Prima. It came all black and is a nice looking bow.
The second bow, which will replace my Traverse (which I absolutely LOVE, btw!) is the V3 31” in Ambush Green!
This is a great looking bow! It arrived too late to take it to Brush to Bay to set it up this evening, but I’ll be there early tomorrow morning to get it ready!
At first glance, the bow appears similar to last year’s VXR, but when looking at it side-by-side with my Traverse, there are a few things I’m excited about. Despite being 2” shorter ATA than the Traverse, the riser is at least 1” longer! If the theory that riser length is more important to stability than ATA, then this should compare really favorably to my Traverse - in a shorter, lighter (and faster?) package!
I’ll post updates as I get it set up and put it through its paces and, of course, I’ll create a couple of videos for the YouTube channel!
