Axis. The dark stripe on the spine is a giveaway.

I would say axis, but not familiar with sika or fallow so the only thing I am sure of is it is NOT a whitetail

HA! I used the search button to try and find the original thread so I could post it for the newbies' enjoyment. I guess it must have gotten whacked because it is gone. I did find reference to Megafawn all the way back to 8/2013. I cant believe that thread was more than 7 years ago.

Used to have some other pictures that showed the spots x black stripe, like a combo of the front and back one in this group.

Never have seen an axis as dark as the OP but have seen plenty of sika like that.. Axis also have a lot more white that would be visible on the shoulders/front legs in that pic.

It was murdered early....7 years ago sounds about right. I had screen shots of certain parts of it for awhile but somehow lost it. Such an epic thread! 😂😂
