Do youth non-hunters need APH permit to enter public land with adult?

Thinking about bringing my son on a dove hunt on public land. Been reading the rules, and I know I am missing it somewhere but does my 8yo have to have any kind of permit? He will be with me but not hunting. If we do it I will have the APH permit. Anyone know?

I don't think so. I took my son a couple years ago and got checked and GW didn't even bat an eye at him and his BB gun.

Thanks. I just found it then checked back here. Kids can come with an adult that has a aph.

No. Youth do not need APH even if hunting as long as with an adult that does.

They can also be hunting with you. My son has been duck hunting with me since he was 7 (15 now). The refuges we hit are ones that require APH permit. At 17, he will need his own permit.

You are good to go Sir.....and get a gun in that boys hand asap!
