Gruene River Grill, not in New Braunfels but close enough for me. I'm sure there's others but I've always liked that place. Stop at Gruene Hall and get you a cold beer when your done eating.

That balsamic ribeye is pretty dang good.

Calimari at gennaros in town - some of the best and rightly priced Italian in that area IMO

McAdoo’s is by far the best in town.

Gristmill, Gruene river grill, krause’s, clear springs are some other good places as well. Gennaro’s is no more, closed down a while back.

We usually eat at Gristmill but might change it up and try Gruene River next trip, Buttermilk cafe has an hour wait Wednesday morning so it’s probably good. There’s a little Mexican food restaurant called Los Gallos that was good with some yuuuge breakfast tacos and cheap.

McAdoo's hands down is the best in town ( wife and I have eaten there dozens of times- never had a bad meal) Myron's steaks- right down the block from McAdoo's, is hit or miss ( depends on who's cooking ). Gennaro's closed there N.B. location due to the China flu. The original location out at the lake is still open, have eaten at both many times- always thought of the two, the original place is/was better. Gruene River grill, good food - reasonable prices and way-way better than Gristmill. Couple of other honorable mentions. But, McAdoos, Gennaro's and Gruene River are the best.
Ed

Thank you for the Freiheit Country Store complements. We are closed on Monday’s but open everyday after that. Having lived here all my life, the must eats are McAdoo’s, Gruene River Grill (much better than Gristmill), Clear Springs onion rings are the shiznit, Las Fontana’s for Mexican food, Myron’s Steak house, & my joint for the Freiheit Extreme Burger ! Myron’s is my favorite place in town but a bit pricey if on a budget. Clear Springs seriously puts crack on their onion rings bc they are that good and a must eat. I get the shrimp plate and wife loves the catfish.

I like the atmosphere at Krause's. Mc Adoos is great. Willies is a chain but has good food. Adobe Green also has a great atmosphere.

Agreed with the McAdoo's suggestions. Never had a bad meal there. I like Gruene River Grill too. I did see a show on TV yesterday where they were covering a place called Texas Bistro in NB, looked good to me!! https://www.txbistro.com/

I've never been to the one in NB. Is it still open?

San Marcos for Hays County BBQ as well.

The Coopers in NB is good if you like that style. I do. There isxa Blacks as well.

Depending on what we feel like, our options are usually between McAdoo’s, la Cosecha, Freheit, Clear Springs, or Gruene River Grill

Other places Worth noting….Rodriguez’s, Dos Rios, Gruene Door, Cody’s, Mozie’s

Cheese enchiladas with chile con carne and onions is insanely good. Possibly my favorite plate of food. Unlike anywhere else.
