Default Traditional FSC Week 21

This week in history, Okie Carl Magee was granted the patent for the first coin-operated parking meter. I think it makes a cool target.

We'll shoot the first shot of a day from 10 yards, (7 for kids), any stance, at the meter target shown below (print mine or the image or draw your own, with window portion about 6-1/2" wide and 3-1/2" tall). Object is to hit in the timeline window even with the longest time available-- the "2" for 2 hours -- WITHOUT hitting the Time Expired sign.

To count, the shot must be in the clear "window" portion of the meter. Arrow must be at least half inside window edge. Then just see what approximate time you get. Most time on a single day's shot wins. Up to four days' tries allowed. Tie-breaker is best shot on earliest day's try.

Good luck and have fun!

Thanks, Briar. BTW, forgot to put the exact date of the patent: May 24, 1938.

Went ahead and shot mine after rain, just now.

Day 1: in the window, at least, but only about 25 minutes.

Thanks, Gary.

Briar: I actually considered making it some version of a coin challenge, but it's just too small of a difference.

Understandable. That's why I shot while the rain was not falling.

Raining is one thing. The four inches of standing water . . .
Hopefully in a day or two I'll have a parking space.

It occurs to me that this target, which seemed pretty easy from 10 yards when I called it is a bit tougher that it seems. Said on Rick's site that if the target zone was a golf hole it would have a narrow fairway, a big hazard and Out-of-bounds on both sides.

A swale is better. French drains clog and should be avoided.

DRT...just build you a shooting dock to float in your shallow lake

Fixing to post a new challenge.

If the coin slot was the target, Briar would have won, hands-down!
